SO LONG CAROLE....A MILLION THANKS
JULY 2009
So, there you have it! The end of an era and the departure of Carole into retirement after 30 years and more of loyalty and dedicated service to the Practice and to the patients and to the other members of the team.
It is actually hard to know what to say but I will try....
Carole has been nurse, receptionist, friend, confidante and general, all-around good egg and that has been the same for all who have come into contact with her since she started here with John Kay in the beginning of the journey of this Practice.
When I first took over, I warmed to her honesty and personality instantly and felt that I had known her for years. She has innate empathy for people in general, an inestimable trait when it comes to dealing with somewhat nervous patients(and stressed dentists!).
She handles the desk with comfort and confidence and has acquired unmatchable knowledge of our clientele. I believe she recognises most people by voice alone now and hardly needs to ask their names! She certainly knows when their appointments are due, or how long it has been since they were last here- in her head!
Carole has been sister to Marijke and aunty and friend and colleague to me and she will be so very sorely missed.
Alas, her mother took ill this year, and after so many years here and the need for maternal care , Carole has opted for early retirement . We all wish her the absolute best for her and her family's future and wellbeing.
